Some of the links on Safe Steps Together are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you sign up or buy a product through them, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
What that does not mean
- We never recommend a product because it pays well. We recommend products because they passed our testing.
- We turn down affiliate offers regularly when we think a product isn't right for our readers.
- An affiliate partnership is never a guarantee of a positive review. Several products we tested did not make our recommended lists.
How we test
Every product we recommend in a buyer's guide has been signed up for, used, and stress-tested with the help of family members in our target audience. For ongoing services, we maintain active accounts. For one-time purchases, we keep the products for at least 30 days. We talk to support teams posing as confused new customers.
Other revenue
We earn revenue from our paid Safe Steps Insider membership ($12/mo or $99/yr) and, occasionally, sponsored content — which is always clearly labeled as such above the article and again at the end. We have never accepted payment for positive coverage of any product or service.
What we will never do
- Recommend financial products as personal financial advice — we're a publication, not a fiduciary.
- Recommend specific medical devices as medical advice — please consult your parent's clinician.
- Sell, share, or rent your email address.
- Recommend a product we wouldn't put on our own parents' phones.
If you ever feel we've recommended something that didn't earn it, email us at hello@safestepstogether.com. We read every message.
